Documenting Fiji
In 2015, Naqaqa Giving Foundation asked American filmmaker Gary Yost to come to Savusavu, Fiji, and spend two months as an artist-in-residence, documenting the lives of the local people in that area, on the island of Vanua Levu.
It soon became apparent to Gary Yost that music and dance are among the deepest threads that run through the culture of the Fijian people. The following thirteen films showcase the talent this small community has and shares it with you now.
Since releasing these short films on YouTube and Vimeo, they have received over two million combined views.
